Almost Done

We now have a rug in the great room - all of the tools for construction were moved to the garage.
Look at how nice the floors cleaned up!
The posts and railings being finished sure adds a lot.
Instant lawn.

Getting anxious to finish!

Part of the reason that the house is taking so long is the time consuming details like these shelves beside the window in Mom's room.
Are we anxious to move in? Look at our living room in Springfield PACKED with furniture!
We now have stair railings and then the railings around the top floor overlooking the great room and kitchen - nice!

Carpets & Railings

Basement carpet looks light - we will have to keep the mud out!
Bonus room carpet looks good - lots of places to hide in here!
Grading, gravel and railings have been the work of the week.

Family Pictures on the Deck

Lots of work has been done on the house - check out the floors! Lisa came in from Oregon and we arranged for Sue & John Moore to take some pictures before my hair falls out from the chemotherapy! Gotta beat back the cancer so we can party at the housewarming. They tell us 3 weeks or so til completion.

Flooring fans

From the second floor, the bamboo flooring is in place but not yet nailed down; it is so hard that it broke the nail gun. The replacement nailer comes on Tuesday.

Trim and Bathrooms

The tile floor in "Mom's" bathroom is now done.
The master bathroom tile looks great.
This is the wall on the between the upper part of the kitchen and the great room - it used to just insulation but it now looks like logs!

Doors, Floors and Tiles

The interior doors are being put in place and stained - good for playing "Hide and Seek!"

This is a tile that I found in Eugene, OR and had installed in the upstairs bathroom.
The floors on the second level are being sanded and then will be finished with a clear coat.

Paint & Garage Doors

Garage doors are in. Will someone please roll the trash bin to the street?

The bonus room above the garage is a light blue - very pretty.
Basement room is a beige-coral color that we are hoping will go nicely with the terra cotta tiles for the floor.
One of the upstairs bedrooms is a light yellow called "morning sun" which is ironic since the room faces west!

Drywall & Heat

Dry wall installation sure makes the inside take shape.

We have heat inside that the drywall finishers need in order to put the mud on the walls.
On the outside the stone finish is around to the front.

Well & Patio

This week we figured out how we are doing the cabinets and the placement in the kitchen. Once the order is placed we should have the cabinets by the end of December.

The major changes this week were the well being dug and this concrete patio outside of the basement.

Fall Changes

The deck is now in place all the way around the back.
This is the HVAC unit in the basement. There is also one in the upstairs and one in the bonus room to heat and cool the bonus room and the breezeway.
Look at all those wires! Lots of electrical work has been done and Jacob installed the camera mounts so that we will be able to keep track of the place remotely.
We now have doors!

Windows and Stairs

Lots of work has been done on the house; the siding is on the dormers, most of the windows are in, there are stairs now to the bonus room and to the basement, electrical power cable has been buried and attached, and the framing of the finished basement has begun.

These are the stairs that go up to the bonus room above the garage; much more convenient than climbing a ladder!
